Puzzles

Over the past year, i've had the great pleasure of working with Andrew's McMeel Publishing on many of their Pocket Posh® puzzle books and a few fun calendars. I absolutely love how they've turned out and was so happy to see many of them available at our local Borders bookstore over the weekend! The Christmas ones would sure make some cutie little stocking stuffers — but i have to warn you...get your gatorade out and your sweatbands on and prepare for some brain exercise. Whew! Below are some direct links to specific designs shown in the photos, but you can also find these and many other Pocket Posh® products at these online retailers:
The Container Store
Borders
Barnes and Noble
Amazon.com

Something tells me you might just recognize a few of the patterns too? Maybe? :)
Brain Games 2 (not pictured)
Aster monthly/weekly planning calendar or monthly calendar
Circles and Squiggles monthly/weekly planning calendar or monthly calendar
Sudoku day-to-day calendar (not pictured)

Hey, speaking of Sudoku, have you heard about the Central Park Sudoku Quilt Kit?? Nono, i'm not kidding! Look:
Moda has done it again. A quilt puzzle! How do they think this stuff up? They must do lots of brain exercises. So why not head over to the Fat Quarter Shop and sign up to receive notification when this is available. I think it should be some time in January, but don't hold me to it. I need to go do some memory exercises :)

New holiday paperware now available at Target!
Red, silver and a hint of gold..oooooo, ahhhhh! They're on the shelf waiting for you in the Cards & Party area. And another *hint*: you just might be seeing that giant poinsettia somewhere else...soon. Keep your eyes peeled. Happy getting-ready-for-the Holidays!

Picnic Season

Have you been to Target lately?
Lookie what's in the Cards & Party aisle waiting for you......from me! (quite a new look for lil' Verna, wouldn't you say?)
Do you know burgers actually taste better on these paper plates? Don't believe me? Go on over and ask Elizabeth!
You can't tell from the picture, but these have gold printing on them. Pretty luxurious...for paper plates, that is ; )

Road Trip

Yesterday i drove to a meeting in Rhode Island...(glad i didn't drive off the road taking this pic). I was headed to one of the wonderful companies I'm lucky to work with. They make kitchen textiles (good news to come on this front soon!). They're located on...
in (of all places)...
Is that some funny fabric-ie coincidence or what?!
On my way home, i discovered that these...
...are finally available in a Target nearby! Maybe they're near you, too? Don't you need some Verna plates for spring? I did! Spring is almost here, isn't it? (oh we can dream, can't we?)

Poinsettia Party at Target!

I've been tap tapping my fingers, pacing, and calling our local Target store for about a month trying to find out when the trucks would be pulling in to unload all the holiday products. Of course no one could tell me anything except that I'd have to wait until after Halloween. WAIT. Yes, for times like this, patience is hugely overrated. Nevertheless, I waited.

And then...this morning...I got an email from a friend who told me she saw my paper tableware designs at her local Target over the weekend. I barely finished reading her note, then bolted out of my chair, hopped in the car and peeled down the driveway. Here they are! They can be found in the "Cards and Party" section near all the birthday stuff...where I must have spent about an hour staring at them and taking pictures. I never thought I'd be so excited by a paper plate before.
Don't you need some for your Holiday party?? Answer: YES!

Poinsettia Party

In the display (but don't look at any of the others)

Label (and product) to Love

As much as possible, we try to buy cleaners for our home that are chemical free, perfume free and biodegradable. But then, we discovered this one at Target that is free of a bunch of other ingredients too (I highly recommend reading the fine print on the stylish apothecary label)! J.R. Watkins brand has been around since 1868 and has a steadfast commitment to conservation, to the environment and to a wide variety of community programs. It's a refreshing lift to my conscience (and my counter tops) to support such a worthwhile company.
