There's not much you need to know when viewing these photos except that every time we have a home project that requires getting the ladder out...this happens:
If you follow along with me on Instagram, chances are you may have seen some of these. But what i'd love to know from you is what color should i paint that ladder?? We don't have the heart to put it away because Franny loves it so much, so if it's going to stay out it should at least be a little cuter, right? Suggestions?
While I was looking at the pictures, I thought "I'd never put that ladder away" LOL. I'd paint it the same color as your walls so it blends or use bright colors with flowers flowing up it so it's a piece of art.
ReplyDeletehaha! we obviously have our priorities straight! love your arty ladder ideas, Dana!
DeleteLove these, we also have climbers in the house :) My first thought was 'what a shame it isn't white like the trim', just an opinion :)
ReplyDeleteShe is a funny kitty. I'd like to see how she gets up and down.
ReplyDeleteyou'd be surprised at how quickly she does both!
DeletePurple!!!
ReplyDeleteCats love anything high! If you paint it grey you can put it in any room and it will match. However I am inclined to say to paint it yellow! LOL I am thinking we need a ladder for our cats!
ReplyDeletehmm...i like you're thinkin', Missy! definitely get a ladder— and then take lots of photos and send them to me!
DeleteI have aqua on the brain...painting my ironing board soon...but I am sure you will pick a purrfect color, maybe more than one! ( and I hope we will get to see it :)
ReplyDeleteI would paint it yellow with beautiful flowers, bees, and butterflies on it. Maybe throw in some hummingbirds too! Make it a "happy ladder" because obviously your kitty is happy way up high on it!
ReplyDeleteGrey with red steps :)
ReplyDeletei hadn't thought of painting the steps a different color. that's a great idea!
DeleteI say Aqua.
ReplyDeleteWell I just love purple so that would be my pick ;)
ReplyDeletePaint the frame one color and the steps another.
ReplyDeleteYou need to paint it in a color that's a perfect match for Franny! Something girly perhaps? (Is she a girly-girl then pink;-)
ReplyDeleteBut I'm sure Franny will look cute whatever color you choose!
I'm thinking Purple!...or Orange. This reminds me of the Christmas when we were in the midst of a major home remodeling. The house was pretty much gutted, and we were down to just concrete floors. No way was I putting up a Christmas tree, and dragging out all the decorations. I had an tall, 8' stepladder that I wrapped pine garland and lights around, and stuck an angel on the "paint tray shelf" The ornaments were dust masks and hand tools. It was my 10 minute tree, and remains one of my favorites....Everyone remembers it, and 10 years later, still talks about it. Step ladders are quite versatile!

Oh Bernie, that is hilarious!! Thanks for sharing your story. Love that you did that! xo
DeleteOh my gosh, that first photo of the paws hanging over cracked me up. What a sweetie! I am terrible at color choices, it's why I quilt, so I can use all the colors. lol
ReplyDeleteha! well, keep quilting because you make beautiful things! i'm with you...i always want to use all the crayons in the crayon box! :)
DeleteAqua or Coral (or BOTH!)
ReplyDeleteI would be tempted to take fabric and decoupage onto the ladder. It would be cheery!
ReplyDeleteYour walls look gray...how about yellow or orange? Beautiful cat.
ReplyDeleteMy default color is always aqua! But since I just made a quilt ("Lazy Sunday") from a Good Fortune layer cake I'd been hoarding (why?), it make me think purple tones. But then, a beautiful tabby complements any color!
ReplyDeleteBTW, is that a step ladder or full height? Knowing cats, I'm betting on the taller size! They love looking down on us, their lowly subjects!
ReplyDeleteJust as you suspect, it's full height! The higher, the better! ;)
DeleteAlways aqua, or turquoise, something along those lines.
ReplyDeleteI love your cats, they have personality!
ReplyDeleteI would have a hard time not poking her belly in between the slats! I would paint it a neutral colors that goes with your fabric lines, then use the other rungs as a quilt hanger. :)
ReplyDeleteIf Franny is anything like my Buffy (short for Buffalo and almost as heavy as one), she'd love something like white with blossoms like your 'Daydreaming' design.
ReplyDeleteHow about white wash the A-frame, so the wood grain shows though. Then paint he rungs, top and paint holder the purple from the Cuzco line. Or aqua.
