**Dusting off the ol' blog**
(cough, cough)
Wha? It's almost September already? How'd that happen? Hope you have all had a wonderful summer and got to spend some time with family and friends. Maybe you even had time to breathe a little deeper and to savor all the ordinary and extraordinary moments that make life so beautiful. We have been trying to do just that, and as much as possible. Sometimes life requires you to shift perspectives unexpectedly and helps you to realize all that there is to be treasured. Like an early morning walk under the shining sun...
...sparkling dew on late-summer meadows...
...birds on a wire against a big, blue sky...
...reflections in streams...
...and impossibly beautiful flowers.
Something that i do not savor, and probably never will, is MOVING. But here we go again! The boxes are out and we're packing everything up. The wonderful news is that Pete and i found a house to make our home and are moving in this Saturday. It will be so nice to be settled at last...
congratulations on finding a house. I also do not love moving! Wishing you an easy & speedy move...
ReplyDeleteHi Kate! Glad that you are back!
ReplyDeleteStefanie
I think moving is in the air this summer. We just moved over the weekend, to a temporary place -- how temporary is yet to be determined. I love it here, but half our stuff is about 12 miles away in a storage locker. I do have enough of my sewing things to keep going on those projects. I love your pictures and that flower... well, it is nothing short of gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMoving can be stressful, but so exciting! New walls, new spaces, new landscaping to be done....I love it all! Have fun with it as much as you can!
ReplyDeleteHate moving.....which is probably why we've been in the same house for 21 years! On the bright side, at least you dont have 21 years of stuff to sort through! Every year I promise myself to pretend we are moving just so I'll sort through things so I'll be ready when we DO decide to downsize. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing those beautiful pictures. I am still sending my prayers and good thoughts your way. Big Hugs x
ReplyDeleteWish we could be there to help. Hope all your belonging arrive in one piece and your back into action in no time.
ReplyDeleteThe flower shot is gorgeous! I love the little birds too - always reminds me of the great short by Pixar "For the Birds" :) Love it!
ReplyDeleteHappy moving - great you've found a home to settle into
Happy Happy for you both, and the kitties! Yes, life is extraordinary and beautiful...a lovely reminder :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun settling in!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you both and hope that your move is smooth and uneventful.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finding your new home!! That is exciting! And the pictures are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteNow if you were on this side of the world, your blog could have a spring clean :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new house!
God speed, friend!
ReplyDeleteI cringe at even the slightest thought of moving myself. I've been in this house now since 1994 when I bought it. My kids really hope we'll move at least once before we die because they're all very afraid that THEY will be stuck clearing this house out themselves. LOL
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finding a house Kate. That's half the stress gone right there I'm sure. I won't say have fun so all I'll say is 'enjoy the ride' as there's always an adventure it anything you do even if it's not the most fun thing you would choose to do. Good luck.
Congrats Kate! Glad you have had some time to savor the simple things in life and that you've found a home!
ReplyDeleteLove all the pics!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the move. I'm a great fan of your fabric collections. Lovely colors!
I am so happy for you that you found a new home and that you will be moving in in time to enjoy all the wonderful fall festivities and the holiday season. I hope the move goes well!
