Despite the somewhat cooler evenings around here, our garden is still
going strong:

I picked a beautiful crown of broccoli today

and all of these!

Dinner is served! And tomato sauce, and tomato bisque, and tomato puree, and salsa, and bruschetta, and caprese salad, and bacon, lettuce and...
oh yeah, TOMATO!
Yum Yum... I am making soup today with ground turkey and tomatoes, and broccoli, and cauliflower, and carrots, and green beans... oop... :)
ReplyDeletewe are still getting tomatos, peppers, eggplant and zucchini from our garden as well. funny...we just had BLT's last night!
ReplyDeleteOOOhhhh Caprese salad!! I just had some today...yum yum yum
ReplyDeleteOur tomatos here, near Philadelphia, enjoyed a banner year but are almost gone :( I am not a big canner, but I did take a ton of them, along with onions, carrots, peppers and garlic, roasted them in the oven, then pureed with my handy dandy stick blender. Now the concoction is portioned out & waiting in my freezer to be used in soups, spaghetti sauce, & various other yummy treats.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love tomatoes! We have a few heirlooms from Alex's mum's garden that we haven't eaten yet; need to think of something to use them in!
ReplyDelete/jealous
ReplyDeleteOur tomatoes keep getting squirrel eaten (along with our car... but that's another story)
You can see it here if you want to laugh/cry with me.
